How to Emulate: Arcade Emulation Guide
Review by: Master-B
A pretty awful Arkanoid/Breakout clone that doesn’t deserve a lot of time or attention, as it was clearly banged out pretty cheaply. The most interesting bits are that it’s 2-player simultaneous and there are some crazy power-ups, like the explosive multiball that just tears the level up for you like a shrapnel bomb.
Aside from just generally being chintzy, it’s also quite cheap as levels start the blocks almost immediately on top of you to give you no room for error and churn those quarters. On the third level I also managed to glitch the ball into the upper corner somehow and get it trapped forever, forcing a reset. Never done that in an arcade game before, emulated or otherwise!
This appears to have been meant for a market other than Japan as beavs are proudly on display, I can’t pin down where Barko Corp was located though.
