Another entry in the “Interactive Girls” series of shambolic “dating” games from the early 90s, Jo Guest initially seems more promising than the others as it has some system of gameplay. The backstory is that your buddy the milkman is off on vacation, and has asked you to take over his route for a week. UK pinup girl, and later columnist and TV host, Jo Guest is hidden away somewhere on the route under an assumed identity for some reason. So basically we’re going to stalk and harass her.
So you’re presented with the milkman’s client list, a map of the neighborhood and a choice of houses to deliver to. Initially you might think “ah, we have to work through this list of customers, follow a trail of clues, perhaps provided by other sexy ladies … no wait, there’s Jo Guest listed right in the middle of the book.”
But visiting Jo’s supposed address actually leads to an amusing sequence where it turns out to be a lookalike cat burglar that robs you (though at least has the decency to give you a sexy stripshow first). As to how to find the actual Jo? I dunno man, just look online I guess. The game intimates that there is a “code” to decipher to figure out which one she is, but even knowing the correct answer I had no idea how you’re supposed to come up with that other than going down the list guessing.
So this whole thing with the milk route really feels more like copy protection than actual gameplay. Once you find the real Jo, she’s frisky for random vagrants and wants to get right down to business. The only real “gameplay” at this point is taking off your clothes in the right order for her, which is a bit arbitrary but just sends you back to the beginning of the sequence if you get it wrong (much better than some of the other Interactive Girls games that kicked you out entirely if you made one mistake on a date).
So this isn’t really any less tedious on the balance than the other Interactive Girls games, and feels pretty much as pointless. The one saving grace is that Jo is legitimately very attractive, like more so than the usual porn girls they dig up for these sorts of things.
